PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Diligence provided humanitarian relief supplies Wednesday to the crew of Station Oak Island and Bald Head Island, North Carolina communities. Diligence's small boats transported over 1,000 Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MREs) packages and more than 50 cases of water as well as other relief supplies to the area.
"Helping the community of Bald Head Island and our fellow Coast Guard members at Station Oak Island holds a special meaning to us, as our families live in the impacted area, too," said Cmdr. Robert Mohr, commanding officer of Cutter Diligence. "We will continue to support the citizens of North Carolina as we all recover from Hurricane Florence."
