GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- Coast Guard crews assisted motorists and residents around the state of North Carolina affected by flooding caused by Hurricane Florence on Sunday.

The Coast Guard is conducting search and rescue operations in support of state and local emergency operation centers. 

Coast Guard crews are employing a variety of search and rescue methods, including shallow-water rescue boats, helicopters and vehicles.
