MIAMI — The Coast Guard and partner agencies rescued three people Thursday from the water near Lake Worth Inlet after their 23-foot boat capsized.
Rescued were Buck McTee, 44, Lucas Alan, 34, and Chris Marcello, 56.
Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received a report from a passenger aboard at approximately 10:15 a.m., stating they were taking on water and their engines were unresponsive. Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 33-foot Special Purpose Craft—Law Enforcement boatcrew and diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Manatee crew to search.
The Station Lake Worth Inlet boatcrew located the three people sitting on the hull of the capsized vessel at approximately 10:50 a.m., embarked them and transferred them to Phil Foster Park Boat Ramp with no reported injuries.
Commercial salvage crews and the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office also assisted in the search. Commercial salvage towed the vessel ashore.
