Coast Guard, partner agency search for people in water near Caesar's Creek

MIAMI — The Coast Guard and the Biscayne National Park Service are searching for possible people in the water Wednesday after a boat capsized near Caesar's Creek.
Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders received a report from a good Samaritan of a capsized 20-foot vessel at approximately 3:22 p.m. Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Station Miami 45-foot Response Boat—Medium crew and a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to search. A Coast Guard Marine Safety Security Team Miami 25-foot Response Boat—Small crew and a Biscayne National Park Service diver are also assisting in the search.
Upon reaching the scene, the MSST discovered a floating, empty flare box while the diver found fishing gear, a cooler and a fresh chum bag underneath the vessel.
