SUBJ: COAST GUARD UNIFORM BOARD
A.  Uniform Regulations, COMDTINST M1020.6J
1.   This message provides guidance on submission recommendations to the Coast Guard Uniform Board. The next Uniform Board (UB-48) will convene on 23 October 2018 and it will be held at Personnel Service Center in Washington, DC.
2.    Suggestions from individuals, field units, and program managers are strongly encouraged.  Suggestions should be forwarded in standard memo format through the first O-6 in the chain of command to be received at PSC-PSD-mu not later than 1 October 2018. Scanned and emailed submissions and may be addressed to the PSC-PSD-mu POC below. Per reference (a), chapter 1.C.2, submission shall include:
     A. UNIFORM ISSUE: A brief statement addressing the topic.
     B. SUGGESTION:  A full statement, including costs, describing your suggestion and how it benefits the Coast Guard.
     C.  ALTERNATIVES: Other satisfactory ways to address the topic.
     D.  ENCLOSURES: Drawings, pictures or graphics if appropriate may be included.
 3.  The uniform board is chaired by PSC-PSD and is composed of representatives from Commandant (CG-13), (CG-127), (CG-4), MCPOCG, DCMS, DCO, LANTAREA, PACAREA, TRACEN Cape May, CG Academy and CG Auxiliary.
4.   Uniform board members may also submit individual suggestions to be considered in accordance with the timeline in paragraph 2 of this message.
5.   Uniform suggestions that were previously reviewed and/or screened by prior uniform boards within the past two years or previous two uniform boards, or uniform items that are currently under review by working groups or higher authority, will not be reviewed by the uniform board.
