SUBJ: ASSIGNMENT YEAR (AY) 2019 PROSPECTIVE SURFMAN PROGRAM (PSP)
AND HEAVY WEATHER POSITIONS AT DESIGNATED SURF STATIONS SOLICITATION
A. Boat Operations and Training (BOAT) Manual, Volume 1,

1. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting tour complete BM3/BM2 candidates
to fill PSP and BM3/BM2/BM1 candidates to fill heavy weather
positions at designated surf stations for AY 19.
2. Report date will be OOA 01 Jul 19 (normal assignment season).
3. Interested candidates should review ref (A) and submit for
PSP/Heavy Weather. In order to be considered members must request
to be screened by submitting a Direct Access screening request
NLT 12 Oct 2018. Late submissions will not be accepted.

request can be found on the BM Portal site. Candidates who screen
successfully will be posted on the BM portal site:

no later than 15 December 18.  Members who screen successfully must
submit an E-resume listing all available PSP and heavy weather
positions rank ordered no later than 04 Jan 2019.  Members who do
not screen successfully will follow normal AY 19 timelines for
E-resume deadlines. A list of available positions
will be provided on the shopping list in direct access and
provided on the CGPORTAL:

4. All e-resume submissions for this solicitation require a command
endorsement IAW ref (A).  The specific elements listed in D.4.a
shall be addressed in the command endorsement. Commands shall also
address the member's ability to perform under stressful situations
and ability to work as a member of a team.
5. Members who are selected for assignment to a surf station
will be issued orders for a four year tour with an option
to extend for two additional years. The option to extend will be
excercised after completing the third year, based on unit and service
needs, as well as member's progression toward becoming a Surfman.
Members who obtain the Surfman qualification should expect a follow
on assignment to another designated surf station.
6. All tour complete BM's who are currently assigned to a
designated surf station, who have not qualified as Surfman
and desire to remain in the PSP shall apply IAW this msg.
In addition to the command endorsement, CO's/OIC's should
provide a statement as to the member's ability to fill
designated surf positions as well as anticipated time remaining
before becoming fully qualified as Surfman.
