Coast Guard medevacs woman with head injury

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a woman with a head injury near Petit Bois Island, Mississippi, Sunday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Alabama, received a report at 3:38 p.m. of a woman who sustained a head injury head injury aboard a fishing vessel approximately 3 nautical miles north of Petit Bois Island, Mississippi.

Sector watchstanders directed the launch of a 45-Foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Pascagoula to assist the woman.

The boatcrew arrived on scene at 4:31 p.m., recovered the woman and transported her to emergency medical services at Station Pascagoula.

EMS transported the woman to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula.
