Update: Coast Guard ends search for 2 men near Dauphin Island
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard ended its search for two men near Central Public Beach near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Friday.
A body was recovered at 6:07 p.m. Thursday and the second at 8:28 a.m. Friday.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received a notification at 2:47 p.m. Thursday of a 17-year-old male and 40-year-old male last seen entering the water from the beach.
Involved in the search were:

- Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew
- Coast Guard Cutter Kingfisher crew
- Alabama Marine Resources
- Daphne Search and Rescue Unit
- Dauphin Island Fire Rescue
- Dauphin Island Police Department
