Coast Guard searching for overdue jet skier near Brooklyn, NY
NEW YORK — The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for a missing jet skier near Upper New York Bay.
Missing is Koray Kurulgan, 27-year-old, last seen aboard a gray jet ski, Friday afternoon.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New York command center received notification from Kurulgan’s father stating he was missing.
Kurulgan has dark hair and he was last seen wearing a black vest.
The original departure location was Marine Basin Marina in Brooklyn, New York.
Currently assisting with the search:
-A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, NJ
-A 45-foot Response Boat – Medium boat crew from Coast Guard Station New York
-NYPD Harbor Unit
-FDNY Marine
