TOURNAMENT

1.G.2.d. and 2.A.10.b.
1.  Training Center Petaluma is proud to host the 45th Annual NORCAL Softball
Tournament from 10-12 Aug 2018.
2.  The objectives of this tournament are to build camaraderie, promote physical fitness
and teamwork, and to showcase our members’ athletic talent.
3.  This is a double elimination tournament under the Amateur Softball Association rules,
with modifications.  The tournament is limited to the first 10 teams with paid entry fees. 
If a minimum of six teams have not registered and paid by the deadline, the tournament
may be cancelled.  All MWR eligible patrons are eligible for the tournament, but teams
must be comprised of at least fifty percent active duty members.  Teams must have a
minimum of 11 players and a maximum of 15 players, plus two coaches.  The 2018 ASA
Rules will apply, with some modifications.  ASA Approved metal bats will be allowed. 
Team awards will be presented to the first three teams, with additional individual awards
for the first and second place teams.
4.  Entry fee is 350 dollars per team.  Entry fee payments should be made payable to
USCG TRACEN Petaluma MWR.  Checks may be mailed to Commanding Officer,
USCG Training Center Petaluma, 599 Tomales Road, Petaluma, CA 94952, Attn: Rob
Sturla or via credit card by calling CG TRACEN Petaluma MWR at (707) 765-7580. The
entry deadline is 31 July 2018.
5.  Limited berthing is available at TRACEN Petaluma on a first come, first served basis,
to include guest lodging and RV camping spaces at the lake recreation area. For
information pertaining to TRACEN Petaluma guests lodging, contact the lodging office
at (707) 765-7248 or for information pertaining to RV camping and lake recreation area,
contact the MWR Ticket Office at (707) 765-7580.

7.  In accordance with Ref A, administrative absence may be authorized for military
members subject to Commanding Officer approval.
