Media invited to attend recognition of the Charleston Area Maritime Security Committee as Nation's best
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Members of the media are invited to attend the recognition of the Charleston Area Maritime Security Committee, as AMSC of the year, by Rear Adm. John Nadeau, U.S. Coast Guard Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy, scheduled for Monday, July 9, at the International Longshoreman's Association (ILA) conference room.
The Charleston AMSC has been selected as the AMSC of the year for 2017. This recognition is due to their cutting-edge collaborative approach to cybersecurity in the intermodal environment and their participation in numerous multi-agency operations that dramatically improve security within the Port of Charleston.
AMSCs strive to enhance communication between port stake-holders within federal, state and local agencies to foster a culture of security, both traditional and cyber, within the port environment.

WHAT: An opportunity for members of the media to record footage, take pictures and conduct interviews.
WHERE: 1142 Morrison Dr., Charleston, S.C.
WHEN: Monday, July 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Media interested in attending are asked to arrive no later than 9:15 a.m.(15 minutes prior to start time). Interviews with key representatives will be available upon completion of the meeting and presentation.
