MEDIA ADVISORY: Day One for CGA Class of 2022

NEW LONDON, Conn., — The Coast Guard Academy is inviting media to attend events during Day One for the Class of 2022, Monday.

 

During the day media will have access to four swab processing stations and the Academy superintendent’s welcome speech to swab families at 9 a.m. in Leamy Hall.

 

Day One processing stations:

 

7 – 9 a.m. Swabs arrive with families at Roland Hall

7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Swab uniform issue in Chase Hall

8:10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Swab haircuts in Chase Hall

8:40 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. drill practice on Washington Parade Field

 

Media interested in interviewing specific swabs are asked to find a public affairs representative to help facilitate the interview.

 

Media interested in attending must call the Coast Guard Academy Public Affairs Office at 860-444-8270 by Friday at 4 p.m. There will be designated parking for media in K lot between McAllister Hall and Yeaton Hall.
