CAPE MAY, N.J. - The plane that illegally landed on a Coast Guard beach Sunday, has been removed.

The plane was defueled and its wings were removed to mitigate any potential damage to the environment and wildlife.

Multiple agencies are responding to the aircraft, including Coast Guard Investigative Services, the Cape May City Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Transportation Office of the Inspector General and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The incident remains under investigation.
