US Coast Guard to conduct ceremonial artillery salute

WASHINGTON – The Coast Guard is scheduled to conduct a ceremonial artillery salute during a Friday morning ceremony at Coast Guard Headquarters.

The brief salute will begin at approximately 11 a.m. as part of a change-of-command ceremony on the St. Elizabeths campus. Local residents in and around Anacostia may hear a loud, booming sound associated with the artillery salute.
