Coast Guard medevacs 1 from Pennington Avenue Bridge in Baltimore

BALTIMORE — A Coast Guard boat crew medevaced a man who had reportedly fallen from the Pennington Avenue Bridge and suffered an arm injury in Baltimore, Monday morning.
A 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew from Station Curtis Bay was underway in the vicinity when they spotted the injured man stranded on an abutment under the bridge at 7:11 a.m.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region in Baltimore requested support from Baltimore County Fire Department EMS. A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Curtis Bay launched with an EMS team aboard to assist.
Once on scene, the crew secured the injured man in a stokes litter, brought him aboard the RB-M, then transported him back to the station.
The EMS team brought the man to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
“We value our working relationships with local agencies like the Baltimore County Fire Department,” said Don Carter, operations unit controller for the case. “Communication and teamwork enabled us to help this injured man quickly and efficiently today.”
