Coast Guard seasonal Stations Scituate, Block Island, Fishers Island open for 2018 boating season

 

BOSTON — Coast Guard Stations Scituate, Block Island, and Fishers Island opened Friday and will remain open through Labor Day.

The stations’ crews will conduct search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, and recreational boating safety missions. Each station is equipped with 29-foot response boats and crews able to respond 24 hours a day.

Chief Warrant Officer Robert Canepa, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Point Allerton in Hull, Massachusetts, is the commanding officer of Station Scituate.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Steven Beasley, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Point Judith in Point Judith, Rhode Island, is the commanding officer of Station Block Island.

Lt. Nina McDonald, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station New London, Connecticut, is the commanding officer of Station Fishers Island.
