SUBJ: AY19 EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ADVISOR (EOA) SOLICITATION

1. This message solicits candidates and outlines the application
process for members interested in EOA duty for AY19.
2. The EOA is the field-level expert for military and civilian
personnel for civil rights services. The EOA provides guidance
to Commanding Officers, Officers In Charge, and all CG members
on civil rights policies. The EOA main functions are: to counsel
CG members, conduct limited inquiries into complaints of
discrimination, and provide training to the CG workforce. The
EOA receives extensive training to provide CG members with
statutory and CG policy required services. EOA's also assist
with special observances, Partnership in Education Programs,
and other special emphasis programs.
3. Specific program requirements can be found on the Special
Assignments portal page at reference (a).
4. Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following requirements:
A. Tour complete in AY19.
B. Meet the requirements listed in reference (b), CH 1.E.2 and 1.E.6
C. Must be an E6 (above the cut for E7) or E7 (not above the cut) for E8
before the application deadline.
D. Must have or be eligible for the Government Travel Charge Card.
5. Application: Interested members must submit their applications through
the chain of command via email to
HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil with the subject line:
(NAME, EMPLID) CANDIDATE, EOA Instructor (CURRENT UNIT NAME). This
request must be received NLT COB 15 July 2018. An E-resume or Command
endorsement in Direct Access is not required for this position.
