Coast Guard ends search for reported person in the water near Panama City
NEW ORLEANS – With no reports of missing persons, the Coast Guard has ended its search for a reported person in the water near Panama City, Florida, Wednesday.
The Coast Guard searched 998 miles for 26 hours.
Coast Guard Station Panama City received a report at 7:30 p.m. Monday of a swimmer seen struggling, submerging and not resurfacing near south Panama City beach.
Involved in the search were:
- Coast Guard Station Panama City 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew
- Coast Guard Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew
- Coast Guard Cutter Kingfisher
- Florida Wildlife and Fisheries helicopter aircrew
