Update: Coast Guard ends search after police safely recover missing person near Cincinnati
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard ended its search after a man who fell overboard from a recreational vessel was safely recovered near Cincinnati, Ohio, Monday.
Cincinnati Police Department recovered Matthew Huddleston in good condition from the bank of the Ohio River at 2:35 a.m.
“The Coast Guard would like to remind boaters to have the proper safety gear on board and to also stress the importance of wearing their life jacket when they’re on the water,” said Christopher Davis, operations unit watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley.
Sector Ohio River watchstanders received a call at 11:04 p.m. Monday about 42-year-old Huddleston falling overboard from a 22-foot recreational vessel into the water between mile marker 471 and mile marker 468 on the Ohio River.
