SUBJ:  MEASLES, MUMPS, AND RUBELLA (MMR) IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
A.  Immunizations and Chemoprophylaxis for the Prevention of Infectious
Diseases, COMDTINST M6230.4 (series)
1.  It is critical for Coast Guard (CG) military personnel to be medically
ready to meet the CG operational mission. Immunizations are an important part
of medical readiness.
2.  In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of reported
cases of measles due to the decreased potency of the vaccine.  To ensure
force health protection, all CG military personnel are required to comply
with the immunizations requirements found in REF (A).
3.  Per REF (A), all CG military personnel must have two documented lifetime
shots of MMR vaccine or a blood test proving immunity to measles and rubella.
CG military personnel who have only one documented shot and who do not have blood
test results showing both measles and rubella immunity must have a second shot.
4.  CG military personnel have until 30 Apr 19 to comply with this requirement.
After that, they will show red in Coast Guard Business Intelligence reports
for required immunizations.
5.  Selected Reserve personnel requiring a second MMR shot will receive it in
conjunction with their Periodic Health Assessment.
