Coast Guard assists disabled vessel

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard assisted a disabled vessel approximately 35 miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Saturday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Alabama, received a report at 10:04 a.m. of a disabled vessel that requested assistance.
Sector watchstanders determined the approximate location of the vessel using Rescue 21 and directed the launch of a Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island and diverted an HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew from Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile to assist the vessel.
The aircrew arrived at 12:52 p.m. and located the vessel approximately 35 miles south of Dauphin Island.
The Coast Guard boatcrew arrived on scene at approximately 2:25 p.m. and towed the vessel to Little Billygoat Hole Ramp in Dauphin Island where it was moored at 6:54 p.m.
