1. The Federally Employed Women (FEW) 50th Annual National Training Institute will be
held 16-20 July 2018 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Atlanta, GA.
2. The purpose of this training institute is to foster education, career development and
training, as well as provide networking and mentoring opportunities to attendees.
3. IAW REF (A), the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (CG-127) is the Coast Guard
coordinator for the event and has responsibility to account for all attendance and overall
cost. Attendance will be limited based on DHS approval and cost limit for this conference.
   a. If the requested attendance exceeds DHS review, approval priority will be based on
the following:
      (1) First time attendee, Civilian
      (2) First time attendee, Military
      (3) Civilian – chronological submission date
      (4) Military – chronological submission date
   b. To request attendance, USCG members shall submit criteria category and an approved
TDY Travel request worksheet via email to HQS-SMB-FEW@uscg.mil no later than 4 May 2018.
COMDT (CG-127) will provide updates and issue final approval via email in accordance
to DHS guidance.
4. Commanding Officers are encouraged to support professional development of government
personnel. However, attendance and registration fees will be at unit expense. If funding
is not available, permissive orders are authorized IAW CH 2.a.10. of REF (B). Attendance
via permissive orders is unlimited for military members, but members must notify
COMDT (CG-127) via email to HQS-SMB-FEW@uscg.mil for accountability. All attendees will
be responsible for making their own arrangements for registration, travel, and lodging
once approved. Rental cars will not be authorized, all attendees will utilize public or
commercial auto for local travel. Online reservation and hotel information can be found
on the website at: http://www.few.org/. COMDT (CG-127) will work with the DHS Liaison to
get final approvals to meet the early registration deadline.
5. A post-conference report is required 30 days after the event. To comply, travelers must
submit a copy of their travel settlement to COMDT (CG-127) via email to HQS-SMB-FEW@uscg.mil
no later than 8 August 2018.
