CULINARY SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR (CSOY) AND DINING FACILITY OF THE YEAR (DFOY)

1. IAW REF (A), a selection board convened to review nominations for the CSOY and the DFOY.
2. We are pleased to announce the selection of Culinary Specialist First Class (CS1)
Elizabeth Meister from Coast Guard (CG) SECTOR San Francisco as the CSOY.
    A. CS1 Elizabeth Meister demonstrated exceptional leadership and professionalism
exemplifying the desired attributes of the CS rating while serving as the Food Service
Officer at CG SECTOR San Francisco. CS1 Meister exhibited outstanding dining facility
management and culinary skills while seamlessly planning and executing high profile
luncheons to include: Fleet Week, Mayor of Alameda, Chief of the San Francisco Police
Department, several delegates from around the world and CG district VIP events.
Demonstrating technical expertise fulfilling an E-7 billet, CS1 Meister's mentoring,
professional development for her CSs and positive workplace have made CG SECTOR
San Francisco's dining facility the best medium ashore dining facility in the Coast
Guard. In the local community, CS1 Meister instituted a training program for the
Job Corps where she and her team of CSs coached, guided, and mentored ten Job Corps
students in an educational and career preparatory program. In addition to her culinary
duties, CS1 serves as an Officer of the Day coordinator, SECTOR Victim Advocate, and
Secretary for the Leadership Diversity Advisory Committee. She is an inspirational
role model and mentor who embodies honor, compassion, and professional competence;
through her leadership, initiative, and service, CS1 Meister epitomizes our core values
of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty.
    B. CS1 Lisa Densmore is the CSOY Runner-Up. CS1 Densmore's superior customer
service and culinary excellence are truly remarkable.
3. DFOY:
