Coast Guard medevacs injured fisherman near Corpus Christi, Texas
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a 79-year-old fisherman from a floating cabin near Corpus Christi, Friday evening.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a request from a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden for the medevac of a fisherman who was reportedly suffering from a back injury aboard a floating cabin in Baffin Bay.
A Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter arrived on scene, hoisted the fisherman and transported him to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi.
“Coordinated efforts with local partner agencies continue to remain vital to the success of the search and rescue mission,” said Cmdr. Keith Pierre, Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi SAR mission coordinator.
Weather on scene was reported as 34 mph winds with 3-foot seas.
