WHY: To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Coast Guard’s first RB-M and the impact of the response boat on the service.
WHEN: Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Station Little Creek personnel are scheduled to provide a vessel ride-along in honor of the 10th anniversary of 45601, the first 45-foot Response Boat – Medium (RB-M) in the Coast Guard.
45601 was the first RB-M to enter into service and was delivered to Station Little Creek on April 7, 2008. since 2008, over 170 RB-Ms have been delivered into service across the nation.
Media members are invited to attend a ride-along to film the 45601 at 10:30 a.m., followed by an interview with Petty Officer 1st Class Correll B. Saint of Station Little Creek on the capabilities and impact of the response boat.
