Coast Guard medevacs man near Destin Jetties

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a man near Destin, Florida, Sunday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Destin received a distress call on VHF Channel 16 from a man on a personal watercraft suffering a shoulder injury near the Destin Jetties. Station Destin launched a Response Boat – Medium boatcrew.

When the boatcrew arrived on scene they took the man aboard and placed the personal watercraft in tow and transferred the individual to Station Destin.

The individual was released to a relative.
