Coast Guard reopens public comment period for harbor bar entrances along Northern California coast
ALAMEDA, Calif. — Coast Guard officials are seeking public comment to review the potential establishment of regulated navigation areas at the harbor entrance bars to Crescent City Harbor, Humboldt Bay, Noyo River and Morro Bay.
Officials are seeking feedback and recommendations from local mariners regarding the establishment of regulated navigation areas at the Northern California harbor bar entrances.
These regulated navigation areas would create bar closure conditions as well as regulate vessel bar transits during hazardous bar conditions for all recreational, commercial fishing and passenger vessels.
The public comment period ended Monday, but has been reopened until March 30 to allow the public to make additional comments.
Detailed information concerning the proposal can be found at https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=USCG-2017-0338-0002.
