Coast Guard medevacs 24-year-old man near Catalina Island
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — A Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced an injured 24-year-old man Saturday night.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach was notified of a 24-year-old who sustained a wrist injury on Catalina Island.
After consulting with the duty flight surgeon, watchstanders dispatched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco's Forward Operating Base Point Mugu to transport the individual to a hospital.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the man and transported him to Harbor-University of California Los Angeles Medical Center where he received further medical treatment.
He was last reported to be in stable condition.
