ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.— The Coast Guard hosted 13 partner nation representatives from eight African nations Friday at Sector St. Petersburg in support of the Department of Defense's Africa Command (AFRICOM) Military-to-Military program.

Military-to-Military engagements pair partner nation representatives with U.S. military units around the globe to provide cross-over training, networking and shared experiences.

"It was an honor to host partner nation representatives at Sector St. Petersburg," said Capt. Holly Najarian, the sector's commander. "Events like these present opportunities to share ideas, enhance operations and strengthen our vital relationships."

The 13 partner nation representatives took a tour of the sector, went underway aboard a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg, and met with watchstanders at the sector's command center. In addition, Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg members gave presentations on the sector's missions and overall operations.

"It was a special experience that we will remember forever," said Royal Moroccan Armed Forces Capt. Abdelmounaim el Alami, a partner nation representative at the event.

Approximately 50 foreign military states in AFRICOM's area of responsibility participate in the Military-to-Military program.
