Coast Guard medevacs 53-year-old woman near Anacapa Island
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 53-year-old woman from a diving vessel near the southern side of Anacapa Island Sunday.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., the dive vessel's crew notified Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center watchstanders of a diver experiencing chest pains after surfacing from her dive.
After consulting with the duty flight surgeon, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco's Forward Operating Base Point Mugu was dispatched to assist.
The Dolphin crew arrived on scene, hoisted the woman and transported her to directly to the University of California Los Angeles's Hyperbaric Chamber, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
