Coast Guard medevacs 70-year-old man from cruise ship near the Bahamas
MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 70-year-old man from the cruise ship, Caribbean Princess Sunday approximately 46 miles northwest of the Bahamas.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District received a notification at approximately 8 a.m from the crew of the Caribbean Princess stating a man aboard was suffering from chest pains and required emergency medical assistance.
The watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to assist. The Jayhawk crew hoisted the patient and his nurse, and took them to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre on Turks and Caicos Islands at approximately 12:55 p.m.
