SUBJ:  CHANGE TO INITIAL SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) CHECK SHEET

B. U.S. Coast Guard Addendum to the United States National Search and Rescue
Supplement (NSS) to the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue
Manual (IAMSAR), COMDTINST M16130.2 (series)
1. IAW REF (A), The Initial SAR Check Sheet in REF (B) has been revised to include
separate questions regarding the number of personal flotation devices (PFDs) and
donning of PFDs, by all persons on board a vessel. The revised Initial SAR Check
Sheet shall be utilized upon receipt of this ACN and can be found at:
https://cg.portal.uscg.mil//units/cgsar/Policy/Forms/Allitems.aspx.
2. The revision of the Initial SAR Check Sheet will be incorporated into the
upcoming change to REF (B), which will be released within the next year.
