SUBJ:  11TH ANNUAL AFCEA DC MILITARY IT LEADERSHIP AWARDS
1. The purpose of this message is to announce the 11th Annual Armed Forces
Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) DC Military IT Leadership Awards
sponsored by the AFCEA DC Chapter. This award will be presented to two members
(one enlisted and one officer) from each of the Armed Forces. Nominees must have
been a member of the U.S. Armed Services, either reservist or on active duty,
between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017, and made a significant contribution
to the warfighter through the use of Information Technology.
2. Awards will be presented at the 11th Annual AFCEA DC Spring Leadership Awards
Dinner to be held on 24 May 2018 at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.
The AFCEA DC Chapter will also host a luncheon on 23 May 2018 at the Ritz-Carlton
Pentagon City in Arlington, VA where awardees will be publicly recognized by their
peers in government and industry.

must be approved through the member's unit chain-of-command and be submitted
NLT 1700 hours on 9 March 2018. There is no limit to the number of Coast Guard
nominees so I strongly urge our Cyber and C4IT leaders to recognize the efforts
of our many deserving Cyber and C4IT professionals. An executive committee made
up of retired flag officers and Senior Executive Service members from each service
will make the final selections.
