SUBJ:  2017 NATIONAL COAST GUARD RESERVE AWARDS SOLICITATION

B. COAST GUARD RESERVE AWARDS PANEL, COMDTINST 1650.12 (series)
1. Nominations are now being accepted for the following Reserve Officers
Association (ROA) sponsored awards for 2017:
    A. Admiral Russell R. Waesche Award.
    B. RADM Bennett "Bud" Sparks Award.
    C. Reserve Outstanding Junior Officer Award (ROJO).
    D. CW4 Michael J. Novosel Award
2. The CW4 Michael J. Novosel Award is administered by the Reserve
Officers Association (ROA). Each military service provides a nominee
for consideration; as such, the Coast Guard nominee for this award is
automatically named the Coast Guard Reserve Warrant Officer of the Year
by the ROA.
3. Awards criteria and nominations guidelines can be found in Chapter 7
of ref (A).
4. Nomination packages must be submitted electronically to COMDT (CG-1313)
by close of business 30 March 2018 to the point of contact listed below.
5. In accordance with ref (B), the Coast Guard Reserve Awards panel will
deliberate and submit its recommendations to COMDT (CG-13). Results will
be announced in a future ALCOAST.
6. Awards will be presented at the ROA National Convention this summer.
Specific dates and location to be provided once established by ROA.
7. COMDT (CG-131) may fund travel for command representatives and
individuals to accept awards.
