1. Each year the USCG and the Department of Defense (DoD) partner
with Affinity Groups to salute military members and civilian
employees for their civil rights accomplishments and contributions to
fostering diversity within our Service. This partnership offers an
excellent opportunity to recognize CG personnel who promote community
service, diversity and equal opportunity for all in the Federal workforce.
2. Awards programs and outreach events enhance the personal and
professional development of CG personnel and inform the general
public about the many career opportunities available to our nation's
youth. All commands are encouraged to support these important awards and
events through nominations and attendance. REF (A) provides additional
details about the Civil Rights Awards Programs.
