Coast Guard medevacs 41-year-old from fishing vessel in Key West

 

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 41-year-old man from the fishing vessel, Prowess, Saturday 40 nautical miles West of Key West.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received the request from the fishing vessel Prowess at approximately 1:00 p.m. for a 41-year-old man with a reported broken ankle. Station Key West diverted the Coast Guard Cutter William Trump boatcrew to the vessel where they embarked the patient. The patient was then transferred to a Station Key West 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew to be taken back to awaiting emergency medical services.

The patient was transported to the Lower Keys Medical Center.
