SUBJ:  SOLICITATION FOR THE 2017 COAST GUARD (CG) CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO) AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
A. Recognition Programs Manual, COMDTINST M1650.26 (series)
1. This message solicits nominations for the 2017 CG CFO Awards for
Excellence.
2. The purpose of this program is to publicly recognize CG individuals
and teams’ outstanding performance as evidenced by specific
accomplishments during Calendar Year (CY) 2017.
3. Any CG employee may be nominated for a CG CFO award by completing the
Award for Excellence/Certificate of Recognition, Form CG-5374 for
achievements that occurred during 01 January 2017 through 31 December
2017. Nominees do not need to be assigned to a financial, procurement or
logistics management position. Nominations for these awards do not
preclude nominees from receiving other awards, such as a DHS CFO Award,
personal award, or cash/time off award, for the same action. The
nomination form CG-5374 may be downloaded from the COMDT (CG-81) Portal
website at: http://cglink.uscg.mil/aecf20c2.
4. CG CFO Awards Categories:
   a. Commissioned Officer O-4 and above,
   b. Commissioned Officer O-1 to O-3,
   c. Civilian Employees GS-13 and above,
   d. Civilian Employees GS-9 to GS-12,
   e. Civilian Employees up to GS-8,
   f. Chief Warrant Officer,
   g. Enlisted Personnel E-7 and above,
   h. Enlisted Personnel E-6 and below, and
   i. Team Achievement consisting of 4 to 20 personnel.
5. COMDT (CG-8) will convene a panel the week of 15 January 2018 to
review the CG CFO Award nominations and recommend awardees. Personnel
from the financial management, comptrollership, acquisition,
procurement, and logistics communities who wish to be considered for
membership on either of the selection panels should email their request
to Dr. Dianne S. Trawick by Friday, 05 January 2018. COMDT (CG-8) will
choose the members of the selection panel.
6. The CG CFO Awards nominations must be received NLT COB Friday, 05
January 2018. Proposed citation must be limited to 14 lines of text, and
the justification is limited to the space provided; additional
documentation will not be accepted. Team award submissions must include
a list of team members by name and contact information.
7. Completed application forms for CG CFO Awards must be submitted
electronically as an email attachment to Dr. Dianne S. Trawick.
8. CG CFO Award winners and their commands will be notified when the
selections are made in the Spring of 2018.
