Coast Guard medevacs a 40-year-old man near Lake Worth Inlet

MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 40-year-old man Sunday from the commercial dive vessel, Sandy's Sunday, near Lake Worth Inlet, Florida.

Coast Guard Sector Miami Command Center watchstanders received a call from the captain of the vessel at approximately 9:18 a.m. stating the passenger had difficulty breathing after resurfacing from a dive.

Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew that arrived on scene at approximately 9:30 a.m. and transferred the patient to awaiting EMS on Riveria Beach. 

EMS transferred the patient to St. Mary's Hospital in stable condition for further evaluation with no further incidents.
