MIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued and assisted 10 people aboard a vessel taking on water south of Islamorada, Friday.

Watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Key West Command Center received a call at approximately noon from a 27-foot recreational vessel stating they were taking on water. The watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Islamorada boatcrew to assist.

The station crew arrived on scene and began helping dewater the vessel, while they escorted it to Bud N' Mary's Marina in Islamorada. All 10 passengers had their life jackets on and there were no reported injuries.
