Coast Guard to hold press conference prior to Albany session of Hudson River PAWSA Workshop
NEW YORK – The Coast Guard will host a press conference in advance of the Hudson River Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) Workshop scheduled for Wednesday and Thurdsay.
The PAWSA process is a disciplined approach to identify major waterway safety hazards, estimate risk levels, and evaluate potential mitigation measures. Additional information about a PAWSA and the entire process can be found here at the Coast Guard Navigation Center website.
A group of waterway users and stakeholders will conduct a two-day structured workshop to meet the Workshop objectives and ensure the PAWSA process is a joint effort involving waterway users, stakeholders, and agencies to determine the safety of the waterway.
Last week, the Coast Guard hosted the first Hudson River PAWSA workshop session in Poughkeepsie.
