Coast Guard medevacs a 71-year-old woman from cruise ship near Bahamas
MIAMI -- The Coast Guard medevaced a 71-year-old woman from the Carnival cruise ship, AIDAmar, Saturday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Seventh District Command Center received a request from the cruise ship for the medevac stating the passenger was reportedly suffering from stroke-like symptoms.
The Coast Guard launched an Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter crew.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 7:00 p.m., safely transferred the patient aboard the helicopter. She will be transported to Doctor's Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas.
