MIAMI -- The Coast Guard along with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and St. Lucie Sheriff's Office are searching for two snorkelers who were reportedly pushed out to sea near the Fort Pierce Inlet North Jetty Saturday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Miami received a report from a good Samaritan at approximately 7:30 a.m., stating that he had seen two snorkelers holding onto a boogie board being pushed out to sea until he lost sight of them.
Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a Coast Guard Air Station Miami MH-65 helicopter crew and a Coast Guard Station Fort Pierce 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew to assist in the search.
