Coast Guard medevac a 66-year-old from cruise ship off Key West Sea Buoy
MIAMI — The Coast Guard medevaced a 66-year-old woman from the Carnival cruise ship, Sensation, Tuesday.
Watchstanders at Sector Key West Command Center received a request from the cruise ship stating one of their passengers was reportedly suffering from a respiratory issue and needed further medical care. The watchstanders directed the ship to make way to the Key West Sea Buoy and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Key West boat crew to medevac the patient.
The station crew arrived on scene at approximately 2:35 a.m., safely transfer the patient aboard the station boat and transported her to awaiting emergency medical services in Key West for further medical care.
