MIAMI — The Coast Guard rescued two people and their dog from a vessel that was taking on water near Haulover Inlet, Florida, Sunday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Miami received a report of a vessel taking on water at approximately 4:33 p.m. with two people and a dog aboard near Haulover Inlet.

A Coast Guard Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Fort Lauderdale and an MH-65 helicopter crew from Air Station Miami were launched to assist.

The Response Boat-Medium crew safely embarked the boaters and their dog who were transferred to emergency medical services at Station Fort Lauderdale. There were no reported medical concerns.
