CAPE MAY, N.J. – U.S. Coast Guardsmen will participate in numerous Veterans Day events to help commemorate the service of America’s military members, Saturday.

The Coast Guard Training Center Cape May’s ceremonial staff will provide buglers, a color guard and firing parties at a number of community events in honor of Veterans Day. Senior officials from the training center are also expected to be present.

"This Veterans Day, we would like to recognize the recruits and how they have chosen to serve their country by joining an honorable service with more than 227 years of history and tradition," said Capt. Owen Gibbons, commanding officer of Training Center Cape May.  "From here, they will fill in the boots of the veterans that came before them and become veterans themselves. Their selfless service and devotion to duty is what truly makes this nation great."
