Coast Guard medevacs crewmember from fishing vessel near Port Isabel, Texas
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced an injured crewmember Friday morning from a fishing vessel three miles southeast of Port Isabel, Texas.
At 8:22 a.m., the captain of the fishing vessel John Henry contacted Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders to report that a crewmember had suffered an injury to his head and was in need of medical assistance.
At 8:40 a.m. the injured crewmember was transferred to a Station South Padre Island small boat with a medical corpsman aboard.
The injured man was delivered to emergency medical services personnel who transported him to Valley Regional Medical Center where he was determined to be in stable condition.
