Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report from a witness at approximately 8 p.m. of an oil platform explosion.

It was reported by one of the platform workers that eight people were aboard at the time of the explosion, and one person did not make it to shore. Of the seven people who made it to shore, six were taken to the hospital. The Coast Guard and partner agencies continue to search for the missing man.
