MSIB Vol XVII Issue 063 Change to Aids to Navigation in Tiger Pass

Change to Aids to Navigation in Tiger Pass

 

The following changes will be made following the week of October 16, 2017.

 

Due to continuing shoaling in Tiger Pass; least depth less than 1 foot Mean Gulf Low (MGL), the Aids to Navigation are unreliable and misleading to waterway users between Tiger Pass Light 1 and Tiger Pass Light 22 on chart 11361. This shoaling has also limited the servicing vessels the Coast Guard can use to take corrective action.

 

The following aids will be discontinued:

  1. Tiger Pass Light 1 (LLNR-15430) in approximate position 29-08-18.916N/089-27-04.832W.
  2. Tiger Pass Light 2 (LLNR- 15435) in approximate position 29-08-10.948N/089-27-05.990W.
  3. Tiger Pass Light 3 (LLNR-15440) in approximate position 29-08-17.084N/089-26-32.512W.
  4. Tiger Pass Light 4 (LLNR-15445) in approximate position 29-08-09.717N/089-26-10.731W.
  5. Tiger Pass Light 5 (LLNR-15450) in approximate position 29-08-17.430N/089-26-10.731W.

The following aids will be converted:
