SUBJ: POST-9/11 G.I. BILL DMDC MILCONNECT TRANSFER OF EDUCATION BENEFITS PORTAL ERROR
1. Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) is experiencing issues with personnel
attempting to transfer their Chapter 33 Post-9/11 G.I. Bill education benefits to their
dependents. Eligible dependents are not showing up in the DMDC milConnect Post-9/11
G.I. Bill Transfer of Education Benefits (TEB) portal. DMDC is working on a fix for this
issue and hopes to have it repaired soon.
2. Personnel interested in transferring their post-9/11 G.I. Bill education benefits should
attempt to transfer their benefits in the TEB portal daily until they are successful. Service
members should screenshot their transfer of education benefits request showing the
date/time, along with error message received, for proof of TEB attempt. Service members
who recently reenlisted or extended to obligate the mandatory 48-month armed service
for TEB will have their transfer request date adjusted to reflect the date they attempted
to transfer their benefits while the TEB web application is down. This adjustment only
applies to service members who have 48 months remaining on their current armed forces
contract on the date of TEB request.
3. Members with questions concerning their request to transfer Post-9/11 G.I. Bill to
dependents may contact Mr. Reidus A. Stokes Sr., reidus.stokes(at)uscg.mil or (202) 795-
