Coast Guard aids to navigation team provides assistance to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — A Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team services aids in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Tuesday.
Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team San Juan members loaded their 55-foot Aids to Navigation Boat with buoys and other ATON gear needed to service the navigational aids around St. Thomas and other U.S. Virgin Islands.
"It is important that our ATON crews service damaged critical navigational aids around St. Thomas and the other U.S. Virgin Islands,” said Chief Petty Officer Francis Kinsey, ATON officer, Sector San Juan. “It is one of our top priorities to ensure the navigable channels are safe to transit allowing Hurricane Irma response teams and commercial commerce to continue."
